Your Guide to Self-Advocacy is a self-paced, online course for high school students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or a 504 Plan with a goal toward independent living. The course includes Closed Captions and is fully accessible in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Whether you are planning to go to work, become active in your community, attend a technical or vocational school, or seek an associates’ or bachelors’ degree; there are specific common skills necessary to fulfilling your potential. This course will teach you those skills and provide you with opportunities to practice them at your own pace.
The online course will explore the challenges of completing a college education as a student with a diagnosed disability, disability law as it pertains to your college education, how to access support services, how to navigate the complexities of higher education, and finally, how to succeed as a college student.
